Robots robots robots, the world is starting to get these Artificial Intelligence technology, which is lead by the leading producers of robots Japan. The Japanese company Sakakibara Kikai introduced the the giant robot which is kind of like a toy for a kids because they designed it to be for kids. The price of this robot is $20,000, which is about 600,000 baht, I think that only the rich people would be able to afford this robot because who would spend this huge amount of money on this useless kind of thing. This price is only an estimate which this price came from the older version of this robot which was released in 2011, and the estimate for the cyclops would be around the same price. The robot is about 6 feet tall and is named cyclops because it has only one eye. These robots have free motion in which you are able to program in to walk anywhere you want. You are also able to control the hand movement of this robot as if it was part of your body because it will follow what you're hand is doing by holding the grips at the sides of you (Watch the video for more information .  This robot is very different from the other robots that got released earlier because it runs on batteries that are chargeable, in which others use gasoline which I think is very expensive, and it will eat a lot of your money too. The release of kid friendly robots is another steps to the age of AI, which make me think that we are going to reach the age of robots soon, in which they will be able to babysit our kids, or maybe be even a really good friend to us. Having one of this robots would be really cool because it will turn you into one of the first people to test the age of robots.

• The company Sakakibara Kikai released a sneak peak of a robot that is meant to be for kids, which is meant to make you look cool, and it allows kids to experience the power of AI, and maybe in the future program it in robots and make it able to think by itself. 
• This robot is named "Cyclops" (one eyed concept), it's 6 feet tall, and it's able to move in any direction it wants depending on the controller, and its able to freely move its hands on control, but not on its own.
• The price of this robot is about $20,000 dollars, which is quite expensive and only rich and crazy people are able to afford, in which this robot is different from other robots because it runs on batteries that is world friendly.    

Potential Strengths/Advantages

The strengths of this author is that his introduction of this robot is very short and precise, in which he gives us all the basic information's of this robot which I think gives people ideas weather of buying this robot or not. He also compares this robot to other robots which I think gives many people the opinion that this is the best robot for kids out in the market.   

Potential Problems/Limitations/Disadvantages

There are quite a few disadvantages of this author in which he didn't give the full function of this robot, in which there are still many secrets that this robot can do and he didn't mentions it. There are also some complex words in which the aim for this article is for kids, so making it simple would get more attraction from kids, and they might influence their parents to buy it for them.

Discussion Questions

I would like to discuss how this inventions have an affect on the evolution of the Artificial Intelligence. The good side of this article is that these robots will make the present generation of kids have interest in robots, and they might be the future ones who are able to develop and own thinking system for robots, and they might be able to serve us in a level that they are able to understand our communications like in the movies. The bad side is that it's a waste of money buying this huge robot that has no use, in which you can only show them that you're cool riding on a robot.

Earth Day 2013 Poster

Happy Earth Day 2013, above is a poster I did concerning about Earth Day and the topic of global warming. I tried my best doing this poster, by adding lots of effects to it. It was an assignment so my effort put into this poster is a lot and I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at it. This poster is about how to prevent Global Warming and what are the causes of global warming which I was assigned to this topic. I also created the slogan "If a tree falls it costs everyone", which means that a tree is the stability of life and if one falls it has an effect on everyone. Below is more information about global warming.

They give out Greenhouse Gases (CO2 or Carbon dioxide)
The excess of CO2 or Carbon dioxide reflects back to the Earth, due to a thicker atmosphere, the heat gets trapped in the Earth, which cause the things below  
Cause ice at the poles to melt
Rises Sea levels
Migration of animals
Increase Rainfall and Snowfall
Less Fresh Water

The effects of global warming cause the Earth to have an increase of 1.1-2.9°C in a year
If we don’t care about Global Warming by the year of 2030, most people would suffer from heat.
Always take care of plants because plants are able to change CO2 into O2, which is one way of saying the Earth by planting plants which will decrease the effects of global warming, so on the Earth Day every should be required to plant at least one tree
Plants are able to avoid Global Warming, so please don’t cut or kill any tress.
To stop global warming we should use renewable energy like wind, solar energy, etc., because of technology we are able to reduce Global Warming for sure.

Illegal or Legal Downloads?

After some website opened a survey asking people questions about downloads or posts they found out that most people don't even have any idea on whats illegal or legal in the internet terms and policies. Almost half of the internet users though that it was legal to post or upload an authorized media commercial to a website which is actually not legal in any ways. 44% of the people who did the survey or about 2,500 people thought that it was legal to post or upload an authorized media commercial or did not know it was against the laws. 35% of the people who did the survey though that it was legal to copy a movie from a friend. Some more facts is that the survey in this year had more people agreeing that the copy rights policy needs to protect the industries which was 68% of the survey people which had increased from 55% in the year of 2010. Another important fact that this survey made is the use of the search engines in which 2/3 of the people use Google or Yahoo to find this copy righted material and have their entertainment, and about 1 out of 4 people use these engines to find movies, shows, etc. Doing the survey is really interesting and important for the internet because we get to know how much the users know and how much they don't know about the copy righted terms, to be honest even I don't know some of the copy right policies and we or I could have already done something that is illegal in the internet.

Major Concepts

• Most people don't know the terms and policies of the internet of the copy rights terms and services, so Wiggins created a survey for people to answer and got many interesting facts.
• One of the main interesting facts is that people don't know that it was illegal to post or upload an authorized media commercial to a website. Which was about 44% or 2,500 people.
• 68% of the people doing the survey thinks that the copy rights policy needs to be respected and protected which has been increasing from the past few years from only 55% of the people. 

Potential Strengths/Advantages

One main advantage that this author had is that everything he wrote was all facts which are based on the survey itself, in which I think is really interesting because it is raw information and it is information that is not modified or copied. I've never read a article that has been rich or raw in facts like this one before, so it's fun to read something like this again.

Potential Problems/Limitations/Disadvantages

The disadvantage of a fact or a raw information article is that it lacks the authors thoughts about the topic, in which I think that reading others people opinions are always fun and good to check because we are able to decided if our opinion is against or with the one that the author has and we are able to rebut against the author which is really good to do also.

For this article I think that I'm for the good side because downloading movies, songs, tv-shows, etc., you are against the copy rights usage and you're decreasing the amount of the money earned of the movie/song which means that they worked really hard for that piece of art and you destroyed it by just illegally downloading it,so the producer will earn less money. On the bad side or the opposite hand, you're able to get these free movies without even paying for it which means that you are able to save your money and get the entertainment. Myself don't usually download any movies or songs online, what I do is by listening to it on YouTube which is completely free for me and they are able to earn money through views.

Pebble, the Ultimate Smart Watch

Have you ever dreamed or imagined of a smart watch that is able to connect to your smart phone, and you're able to connect it with a watch on your hand. The function of the pebble is not only telling time but also able to make many different stuff. The price of this watch is around 100-150 dollars which I think is a reasonable price because there are many different smart watches that are more expensive. What this watch is able to do is that its able to approximate the time like, we always do because we never say the exact time of minutes we only round it up to multiples of 5 which I think is really cool and it's awesome in a form that fits our personality and life style. Not only time this watch is able to play music, having its apps inter phase, its able to pause, play, skip, forward, and backward. The watch has 4 main buttons which is up, down, back, and select. This watch is also water proof up to 50 m which is really good news for people who never take off their watches. It's also able to show notifications of your phone, such as emails, messages, etc. This helps a lot because you don't need to take out your phone out of the pocket, you just need to glance at the watch and you'll be informed, I think that this will reduce the amount of times you drop your phone while trying to pull it out of your phone. Overall I think that this watch is pretty useful and I could help many business people who are using their phones a lot, in which I think that it saves time because there are some very annoying notifications that you don't want to waste time checking, but having this watch you can just ignore the annoying notifications. I also think that the approximate time display would also be really awesome, and the water proof in which I never take of my watch when I shower and it will save a lot of time.

• The pebble watch has been released for a while now, and the functions of it has been really attracting many people from different areas, which the price is around 100-150 dollars.
• One of the main function of this watch is the different time displays in which you can choose between digital and analog, and also the approximate time display which allows people to look at their watch once a recognize the time.
• The minor functions are like water proof, music, and the notification system which allows you to check your watch that is connected to your phone and its able to tell you if you have any new notifications pending.

Potential Strengths/Advantages

The strengths of this article is that the author itself is an owner of this watch, and he has his first impressions of this watch included which gives us a buyer point of view. The author also has his very own pictures which means that this article is no way to be fake, and it he has a picture describing the approximate time display which is really cool. Overall he did a very good job describing this product.

Potential Problems/Limitations/Disadvantages

One disadvantage that the author has is that he didn't compare this watch to the different other smart watches that are out there because there is not only one smart watch, in which there are many disadvantages and advantages of the smart watches. The biggest and the hottest news people are waiting is the iwatch and he didn't even mention it.

Discussion Questions

I'm really interested in these types of watches because they are easy and very good to use, I think that the pebble is a normal and easy type of smart watch that is able to very less stuff, releasing the smart watches now is not a really good idea because most people are waiting for the iwatch according Mr. Pete, in which the discussion question for this week is will you buy this one or wait for the better iwatch.

The New Assistive Touch

As if you know, the Assistive Touch is a very important or useful feature in the Apple Products which enables you access thing easily through a small short cut that is movable around the screen. Many users have seen the comfort of this program and now they manage to improve this AssistiveTouch. MyAssistive is a new app the enables you to fully customize your Assistive Touch, in which you can change the position, the color, and what it does, or in other words the short cuts you want to add to it. Some of the examples of this configuration are like toggle Siri, take screen shot, toggle LED flash, etc. Overall the AssistiveTouch has been something that has been really useful to most people, who like to switch around apps a lot, and including the ones who's home button might be broken all use the Assistive Touch. There are still many negative sides of the Assistive Touch, in which one main reason many people don't use it is because of the positioning on the screen because it always gets in your way for most of the times which is very irritating especially for me too. Summarizing I think that it is quiet useful for many people, for example toggling the LED flash could be really important when there is a sudden electricity cut, which enables you to manage your vision better.

• Assistive Touch has been something that Apple built in most of their Apple Products to make users have a short cut to favorite apps, or shortcut buttons like screen capture.
• MyAssistive a utility that enables you to customize your Assistive Touch which ables you to choose the options you prefer, in this list that MyAssistive is giving. You're also able to customize the color, position, etc.
• There also still many disadvantages of the Assitive Touch in which the positioning of this short cut always gets into your way and you will never find a good place for it to put. Another disadvnatge is that you can only assign a single task at a time, which is not beneficial like the other applications which can do more than one task at time which can be found in the app store.

This article is really short and precise, when I first opened the article I was wondering what is Assistive Touch? The good thing about this author is that he puts the picture of the Assitive Touch at the beginning of the article which makes me understand what is he talking about. The Assitive Touch is a really good article to write about because many people don't know the actual use of it.

Potential Problems/Limitations/Disadvantages

The information given by this author is too less, in which he didn't give us that clear information about the Assitive Touch, in which there is a lot more that this Assistive Touch can do like the favorite list, able to go back to the home page, etc. The author also focus only on the IOS, not on the Android, in Androids we are also able to install this by getting from the App store and I find it very similar too.

Discussion Questions

I would like to ask the class about what they think about the Assistive touch because from my point of view there are many iPhone users in our grade, and I see that some people use the Assistive Touch and some don't. I would like to have a debate about is the Assistive Touch in which I think its very debatable. I myself think that its very useful and it would benefit alot but in cases when I play games, I would disable it.
